Let It Ride is a casino card game. It is a variation of poker, where a player bets on a hand made up of five cards. Three of these cards are dealt to the player face down. The final two are known as community cards. While the game is not as popular as poker, it remains a firm favourite for older players and others new to table games due to its relaxed, slower pace.
The most notable feature of Let It Ride is the fact it allows punters to withdraw a certain portion of their bet during play. Before the game begins, players are required to distribute their bet across three betting spots on the table. This total figure must be divisible by three as players later get two opportunities to withdraw a third of their bet.
The dealer begins by dealing one card to each player. They must then decide whether to withdraw a part of their bet before the first community card is dealt-face up. A second ”hole” card is then dealt to each player. A second and final decision on whether to withdraw another third of their bet is then made. If they decide not to, this player is said to have ”let it ride’. Finally, a second community card and third ”hole” card is dealt to each player. In the event of a winning hand, the player is paid out in relation to their remaining bet and a payout schedule. For example, if a player has a full house they receive an 11 to 1 payout. Any hand less than a pair of tens is considered a ”losing hand” and the remaining bet is forfeited to the house.
