Don’t Forget Your Bingo Etiquette

Most bingo players are very friendly and will be more than happy to help you if you have a problem. But remember that you’re playing in their hall, so here are a few tips that may assist you and stop you offending other players.

The most imperative rule to remember is to keep quiet as soon as the caller starts the balls rolling. Also, keep in mind that talking whilst the caller is speaking is a major distraction. This is an unwritten rule, but one that you would do well to remember.

You’ll also need to be on the lookout for lucky seats. If a regular player at the hall asks you to move, it would be polite for you to go along with this request.

If you’re not winning, do not take out your disappointment on the caller. Players who are losing have been known to shout at the caller and blame them. You have to remember that bingo is a game of chance, and no-one can be held responsible for you losing. If for some reason you can’t hear the caller or they are going too fast for you, ask them politely to speak louder or slower. If you still have a problem, speak to the manager.

Bingo games can move very quickly, and it will be hard, but think before you shout bingo. If you do call, it will alter the flow of the game and if you have called incorrectly, other players may have already spoilt their bingo cards and will not be able to continue.
