One of the most common ways of receiving a free bet from an online bookmaker after signing up is to be given a free sum of money to gamble with which is in some way based on the amount of the initial deposit. Although the amount offered on sign up is usually directly correlated to the initial deposit, some online bookmakers offer their new customers a lump sum just for registering an account.
When an online gambling shop offers free bets just for signing up for a real money account, they usually come in two forms. Sometimes, a bookmaker will offer the sum if a minimum amount is deposited into the account. The sum is also usually paid into a player’s account a set period of time after the initial deposit is made, differentiating it from free bets which are awarded immediately upon a first deposit being made.
Some more generous online betting shops and casinos, however, will offer free bets just for signing up for an online account. Although a player will have to register for a real money account, meaning that they will need to enter credit card details, they will not need to deposit any money in order to receive their free bets.
However, this money cannot just be withdrawn after it has been awarded. In order to be paid out, the free bets will need to be used, sometimes several times over, before they become ‘real’ money and the winnings can be kept.
