The Return of Jennifer “Jennicide” Leigh

The current series of WSOP has seen the return of a very familiar blonde sitting at the tables in the form of Jennifer “Jennicide” Leigh who has been largely missing from the poker scene for the past two years, she is returning to poker, and by the looks of her Day 1 stack of 85,425, she is looking to make a deep run in the 2010 WSOP.

One of online poker’s first cult-like obsessions, Leigh burst onto the scene shortly after the online poker boom was ignited in 2004 and was quickly playing the highest stakes limit-Hold’em cash games on the Web. Although Jennifer Leigh was not quite able to have a break-out performance on the live scene, her success reached its zenith in May 2008. In a number of interviews, Leigh discusses how burnt out she got playing poker, and that, combined with what she admitted was a terrible run online, compelled her to step away from the game that put her in the spotlight. There are many that will be following her progress with great interest.
