Two hundred fall by the wayside in the European tour

They were falling thick and fast on Wednesday as more than two thirds of the second day starters quit and left Frenchman Yan Brosolo as the chip leader going into day three as the comfortable leader. Marc Gork, who led the field at the beginning of the day, saw his stack dwindle until he busted out before the end of the day.

With Brosolo in the lead and with his fellow Frenchman Rui Cao, who held on to his second-place position (522,500 chips) going into tomorrow, they are not going to have it all their own way though, not in a tourney as tough as the European. Close on their heels are EPT Grand Final winner and Team PokerStars Pro Pieter de Korver, with Kristoffer Edberg, EPT San Remo finalist Kalle Niemi, Antony Lellouche and Luca Pagano all holding threatening numbers of chips.  With 95 runners left and just 80 places paying out, it’s going to be fun.
